Dear Transplant Colleagues

The next biennial Congress of the Southern African Transplantation Society is scheduled for 22 to 25 September 2011. The venue will be the spectacular Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, which provides ample opportunity for after hour's entertainment and fun for the rest of the family.

The theme is 'Striving for Excellence in Africa'. This theme was chosen to give us all an opportunity to showcase and benchmark our outcomes and results and of course, to refresh and update our practice.

Several prominent international experts in the fields of immunology, infections, surgery and clinical transplantation, as well as local experts, have been invited to entertain and inform us. Every member of the Society is encouraged to attend, to present papers and ultimately to contribute to the success of this event. The meeting will be preceded on Thursday the 22nd September by a laparoscopic surgery workshop and a refresher course on immunology, both accommodating a limited number of attendees - early booking is advised.

Delegates can look forward to an outstanding academic program and plenty of recreational options in one of the most picturesque settings in the world.
